Malvern Star & Genesys Aust National Champ!
Last night was the start of the Australian National Championships in Ballarat. The 1.1km hotdog criterium is always a favoured event by fans as 6000 people turned out for the race, and it didnt disappoint. With only 2 GreenEDGE riders racing the crit as the rest of the team saved their legs for the Road Race, Genesys had the largest team in the bunch. Genesys was active throughout the race, driving the front of the peleton and making sure they always had one man in the break. In the end it was Anthony Giacoppo (AJ) who took the honours crossing the line first as he kicked out of the corner off Mark Renshaws wheel (former leadout man for Mark Cavendish). AJ finished second in the same event last year, but there was no way that was going to happen again this year. FormerGenesys rider Steele Von Hoff (signed with the Chipotle Development Team for 2012) also finished 3rd. The podium was a bright sight of orange as the Orange Army continues their wining form into the new year. The Mens Elite Road Race is on Sunday where the Genesys team will be up against the best riders from Australia. Were all hoping one of them can come home with the Australian National Jersey.. fingers crossed! Click here for a full a full report from the Ballarat Courier. Joel Wins the Melbourne to Warrnambool!
On the weekend of October 29th and 30th The Genesys Wealth Advisers Pro Cycling Team raced the final two races of the Australian National Road series. Already a guaranteed win for the overall teams classification and individual rider categories, the pressure was off for the season, but on for the biggest one day race in Australia. The Warny started in 1895 and is Australia's oldest one day race and the world's second oldest one day race, after the LigeBastogneLige Classic. The route starts in Melbourne and traditionally followed the Princes Highway to Warrnambool on Victoria's western coast. The 262km race always seems to be plagued with terrible weather conditions and Saturdays start was no different. Throughout the day the peleton was hit with pouring rain, strong winds and as a result a lot of gutter action, punctures and crashes! The Warny is a race for the toughest of tough. I am proud to announce that the Genesys Boys picked up a 1/ 2 finish with Joel Pearson breaking away solo for the last 15kms to finish 13 seconds ahead of team mate Nathan Haas, with Victorian Luke Fetch (Search2Retain) third. Pearson won the race back in 2009 so is now a two time winner of the prestigious race. This is a dream, the biggest thrill of my life, Pearson said at the finish. I dont think I have ever won a decent race in a solo breakaway before. This is a new one for me. On Sunday the team backed up after the Warny to race the Shipwreck Coast Classic a 117km race around the coast of Warrnambool. Genesys Sprint Leadout Superstar Anthony Giacoppo was rewarded for season long team service with an emphatic victory. Giacoppo (Genesys Wealth Advisers) defeated Queenslander Peter Herzig (Team Budget Forklifts) in a two-man sprint finish, with Patrick Shaw (Genesys Wealth Advisers) a controversial third. Giacoppo, 25, has operated this year mainly as a faithful and capable work-horse for his high-profile team-mates Nathan Haas, Steele Von Hoff, Shaw, and yesterdays Melbourne to Warrnambool winner Joel Pearson. His best performances were third overall in the Eastern Oak Tour of Geelong in July and second placing in the final stage of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour earlier this month. Its good to top off the year with a win like this, Giacoppo said. Its been a great season for Genesys. A quick note from Genesys themselves: As we say team work wins races and that sentence basically sums up Genesys Pro Cyclings year and the reason for our success. The boys have been 100% committed toachieveing the teams goals, prepared to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of thesquad whenever needed. AJ has done his fair share this year so its great to see him rewarded with another fine NRS win. Thanks to all our volunteers and supporters for their help and encouragement throughout the year, also to our fantastic sponsors who are a big part of our teams success.

CONGRATULATIONS GENESYS ON YOUR AMAZING SEASON!

OH MY GOD! GENESYS IN YELLOW!!!!
WOW WHAT AN EXCITING DAY IN TODAY'S HERALD SUN TOUR!! The Queen stage of the Herald Sun Tour saw the teams take on the Alpe d'Huez of Australian Cycling Arthurs Seat 3 TIMES (3km at an average of 10%) during the 131.6km stage from Sorrento to Arthurs Seat!!!! Nathan Haas started the day sitting 1st in the sprint Jersey, 1st in the U23 and 2nd overall in the General Classification. While the Genesys team remained in top stop in the Teams Classification. With theteam well prepared for the stage, and Nathan racing the the form of his life only one year into being a fulltime road cyclist- today's stage was set to be the race of his short racing life. Pat Shaw took on the team leader duties early in the race jumping into the early break of 5 that stayed away for most of the race, giving Nathan a chance to rest his legs as the other teams did the work within the peleton. Arthurs Seat took it's toll on the breakaway and it was caught on the second lap up Arthurs Seat with about 30kms to go. Nathan was sitting ina comfortable position right there with the other GCcontenderswatching and waiting ontheir tails. As they hit the final 3km climb, a couple of riders went off the front, Jack Bobridge (Haas's main rival after Rhys Pollock had been dropped) jumped and Nathan went with him. They overtook all the others except Stage winner Russian Egor Silin (KAT) and with 300m to go Haasy passed Bobridge to take 2nd across the line. 2nd was enough to put him up to the yellow, as well as Best Young Rider jersey and theSprinters jersey - WHAT A DAY!!! Congrats team- you looked terrific out there on your Malvern Star's and we can't wait to watch you in Stage 5 tomorrow in Carlton tomorrow. Come down and cheer them on! Genesys shows they can match it with the best!!!
What an amazing two days for the Genesys Cycling Team (and Malvern Star) after the first two days of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour! We couldn't be prouder of how the boys have performed!! Stage 2: On day two Genesys once again showed they wouldn't be intimidated by the big international teams and prepared to take them on. The 140km stage started in the historic Sovereign Hill in Ballarat giving the boys a chance to mine for gold before they raced for it on the road. Their destination, Geelong and along the way they encountered lumps and bumps and very windy conditions as well as parts of the Australian National Championships Course..... surely an Aussie would have to thrive with this home ground advantage on such a challenging course? The stage played out as anticipated, and while small attacks went off throughout the race, in the end everything was back together. The team rode the course on a team training camp 3 weeks ago- so they were well prepared for the end of the race and they hit the final corner at 3km to go in full flight. Other teams were caught off guard and out of position at the turn, having to expend valuable men to get back into position. Steele was all set for the sprint, tucked safely in to Pat's wheel as they hit the final climb to the finish. As the sprinters all launched at the line, many misjudged the difficulty of the finish and were swept up. In the end Steele finished a close third behind opportunist Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg (MTN) from South Africa and fellow Aussie Baden Cooke (Saxobank). Nathan Haas rode a smart race finishing just outside the top 10 to retain his lead in the U23 and sprint classifications- as well as sitting 2nd in the General Classisification And Genesys Pro Cycling Team is leading the Teams Classification! Who said their just a domestic team? They're stamping their authority on their home turf! Good luck boys! Keep up the great work After the Stage 2 the General Classification stands at: 1. Rhys Pollock (Aus) Drapac Professional Cycling 7:33:45 2. Nathan Haas (Aus) Genesys Wealth Advisers 0:00:15 3. Jonas Aen Jorgensen (Den) Saxo Bank-Sungard 0:00:18 For full race reports on the team go to http://genesysprocycling.com.au/

Steele steals Launceston to New Norfolk!
Steele Von Hoff stamped himself as a rising star of Australian road cycling taking the biggest win of his career at the brutal Launceston to New Norfolk Classic in Tasmania on the weekend. The Melbourne sprint sensation outsprinted the highly-rated Russian pair of Alexander Serov and Olympic triple medallist Alexi Markov in a thrilling finish at the end of the 208km race. The win marked Von Hoffs 17th win for the 2011 National Road Series. After only being a full-time cyclist for only the past six months, he has blitzed the domestic Scody Cup series this year, winning five stages of the Tour of Gippsland in late July, two stages of the Tour of Geelong in mid-August, and another five at the Tour of the Murray River last month, as well as the one day Goulburn to Camden Classic. The race fielded its strongest line up ever with a full contingent from the Fly V team as well as Team Russia, and as a result the whole Genesys Team had to dig deep to help get Steele over the line. Sixty kilometres into the race, the 12 kilometre climb of Mount Poatina, which peaks at the gradient of 7.6 per cent, proved quite the test for 23-year-old Von Hoff, as he struggled to stay in touch with the lead group of riders. Luckily the Genesys boys are known for their camaraderie and AJ and Nathan Haas nursed Steele holding the front group as close as possible eventually getting him back to the group after a concerted 5km chase. In the later stages of the race Pat Shaw and Matthew Marshall worked selflessly for Steele following all the little breaks closer to the end of the race. Steele modestly acknowledged the help of the rest of the boys at the end of the race, My team-mates pulled themselves inside out for me. I needed to win a long, tough race I cant say much about my own performance today, it was all the boys helping me get through. Thanks heaps to them for getting me to the line today in first! Has to be the toughest race I have ever done! Photo's: Shane Goss/ Licoricegallery.com After the climb the team was faced with the quandary of needing to preserve riders for the intense block of racing over the next month, deciding to pull most of the riders which meant that for the last 50km only remaining members of the team were Pat, Steele and Mathew Marshall and were out numbered by Fly V and Team Russia who both had 8 riders each still. In a brilliant race to the line, Pat muscled his way into position with Steele in tow dropping him off on Kemps wheel with 1km to go. In a fine display of strength and determination, Von Hoff chased down lead pair of Markov and Serov who appeared to have the race within their grasp. Team Russia still had three riders at the front and as the leading rider swung off to the left Steele picked his moment perfectly jumping hard on the right with 300m left to go. His acceleration gained him a small gap and as the line loomed the remaining Russians were slowly pulling him back but he just held on to take the win by a couple of centimetres. Photo: Mark Gunter/ markgunter.com.au Such has been Von Hoff's dominance that he has an unassailable lead in the four-event Scody Cup, which ends with the six-day Tour of Tasmania, starting in Hobart on Tuesday. Von Hoff will sit out this week's 10-stage Tour of Tasmania in preparation for his assault on the Jayco Herald Sun Tour in Victoria, beginning October 12 which will feature the likes of Richie Porte (Saxo Bank-Sungard) and Adam Hansen of Omega Pharma Lotto. Photo: Mark Gunter/ markgunter.com.au Good Luck to the whole team in the Tour of Tasmania this week, we hope all the training you have been doing in the snow down in Tassie pays off!!

Madeleine top 3 at Alcrataz 70.3
Madeleine Oldfield finished 3rd in her final lead up race (Alcatraz Triathlon)before 70.3 World Chmpionships in Las Vegas in 3 weeks.....She's been racingand training the last couple of months in the US and is getting some fantastic results.Congrtulations Madeleine! We are so proud of how you are going! Here's her report on the race! Alcatraz 70.3 Race Report By Madeleine Oldfield When deciding my race calendar for the 2011 US season I made sure to fit in the Alcatraz Triathlon. This was my 2nd year racing at Alcatraz and it truly is one special race! Race morning kicked off at 5.30am with a bus trip from transition to the ferry terminal. It was then onto the boat with some 800 other crazy triathletes bound for Alcatraz Island. After about an hour of sitting on the boat trying to keep the nerves calm, stay warm and prepare for plunging into the 15 degree (shark-infested??) water, it was time to go! At 7am the horn sounded and before I knew it we were jumping off the boat into the sea below. The initial chill of the water doesn't quite hit until about mid-way into the swim once the adrenaline rush starts to wear off. However, there is plenty to take the mind off the cold, like where IS the swim exit?? The distance from the shore combined with the current and chop make sighting in the swim really tough. At times I couldn't see anyone or any boats around me and started to get a little concerned as to where everyone had disappeared to... Although eventually I could make out some flags on the shore, so put my head down in an effort to get out of the freezing water asap! To make it a little more fun, we had to swim a 1/2 mile further than last year (past transition). As such we had a mini 4th leg of the triathlon with an 800m run from swim exit back to the bike. This was actually pretty good as it helped get me warm for the cycle. I exited the swim in 5th place and soon went about trying to make up some time on the 25 mile bike leg. The bike course took us through the hills surrounding the Golden Gate Bridge, then down onto the Great Hwy for an out and back section, before entering the Presidio for a gradual climb and finally back through the hills. It's a great ride with a bit of everything. It's important to focus on pushing hard the whole way as it's easy to back off on the downhills if the mind wanders. My bike split was 4min faster than last year which is always good to know! Out onto the 7 mile run, and I was still sitting in 5th so knew I had to put in a strong run if I wanted to improve on last years 5th place. The run begins with a 2km long flat section, followed by a climb up to the Golden Gate Bridge. We then dropped down to the beach for 400m of sand running before coming face to face with the 400 step sand ladder. This is the toughest part of the whole race, with what seems like 400 steps of pure pain. I had managed to run into 3rd place at this stage, however the girl in 4th was starting to make up some ground so I knew as soon as I hit the top of the ladder it was time to get going, not look back and hold on. I made sure I pushed the down hills and finished strong along the final 2km flat section. I ended up crossing the line in 3rd place with the fastest run split of the day. I was aiming for a podium finish so was stoked to come in 3rd. It's an awesome race and if anyone ever has the opportunity to do it I would definitely recommend! Massive thanks to Sam and Bos for their awesome cheering! Also to Tri-California for putting on such a great race and looking after us for the weekend. Big thank you to Malvern Star, Brooks, Selle SMP and Giro for backing me, as well as Josh for continuing to work with me. Now it's back to Boulder for 3 weeks of training before hitting the World 70.3 Champs in Vegas on Sept 11 followed by one last race of the US season at Syracuse 70.3.

Genesys take 5th WIN in a row!
The boys from the Genesys Wealth Advisors Team have been smashing it up this season, taking out the Tour of Geelong, and their 5th consecutive tour for the season! We would like to introduce Nathan Haas from the Genesys Wealth Advisors Cycling Team who is going to be a guest journalist for Malvern Star, and providing you with a greater insight to the team and their challenges over the rest of the season. Nathan is currently in the lead of the NRS series, which he attributes to the teamwork and strength of the whole team... and he's one of the nicest guys going around! Genesys - Tour of Geelong Race Report By Nathan Haas Success can mean many things, come in many forms and take many paths. However, defined by the Malvern Star dictionary, success can only be translated as The Genesys Wealth Advisers Pro Cycling Team. Without doubt, the National Road Series (NRS) has never before seen such an overwhelming diction of success as displayed by the 2011 Genesys team. Currently, the team is sitting in an unprecedented position, having taken out overall honors in each of the four National Road tours prior to the 2011 edition of the Tour of Geelong. Taking this into account, the Team was even more motivated. the trophy of a fifth successive victory shouted the word CHALLENGE! Inspired by Sir Hubert Oppermans' own determination to meet what seemed the most unlikely of challenges in his own time, the team rode into the Tour of Geelong with one thing in mind.WINNING! The 2011 Tour of Geelong, as noted by race director John Craven, traverses its hardest route to date, with its highest level of competition in its four year history. With the inclusion of Australia's Fly V team based in the USA, the Genesys team had a hard job ahead of them knowing the absolute class and horse power of this well drilled team. Success can mean many things, come in many forms and take many paths. However, defined by the Malvern Star dictionary, success can only be translated as The Genesys Wealth Advisers Pro Cycling Team. Without doubt, the National Road Series (NRS) has never before seen such an overwhelming diction of success as displayed by the 2011 Genesys team. The first stage began in Geelong's North Shore, a 42km Criterium with long straights and tight corners. This challenge was only made more difficult as the heavens opened to ensure a very sketchy and slippery race. However, with a majority of the team having spent a month training in Hobart's cold and wet winter, racing in these conditions suited the Orange Army. With an absolutely beautiful performance a week earlier in the Tour of Gippsland, winning five of nine stages, Steele Von Hoff was always the obvious option for the team in this stage. Unfortunately, due to what can only be described as an outnumbered situation, the Fly V sprinter Scott Law edged out Von Hoff by a few centimeters to take out the first Stage. In the true style of a Champion, Von Hoff conceded defeat and swiftly shifted his ignited focus onto the afternoon's stage in Geelong's You Yangs National Park. This road stage was impressive, with over twenty corners exposing riders to wind of every direction, more rain and the added bonus of endless hills, potholes, and a technical hill top finish. Pardon my pun, but the team simply rode away with victory on this stage. The brilliantly executed stage initially saw Tour of Toowoomba's winner, Pat Shaw, representing the team in the days long breakaway which was only caught in the dying few hundred meters of the race. However, when it was caught the Orange Army didnt hesitate launching Steele to another seemingly unchallenged victory with Nathan Haas in third. Admittedly the Oppy C7 Team was an unfair advantage with its vibration control over the harsh roads, but full credit must be shown where due, to Steele, the teams sprinter winning a mountain top finish. A class above the race organisers commented. This stage saw the donning of the yellow jersey upon the shoulders of Von Hoff, the King of the Mountain (KOM) to Haas and Sprinter's jersey to Shaw. Another fantastic day for Malvern Star's team Genesys. The following stage in Geelong's Grovedale was a 62km Criterium, an unprecedentedly long circuit race for the National Road Series. Not only was this challenging enough due to its distance, it was also victim to a typically August wind, with a gusty cold bite! This meant that teamwork and positioning was pivotal not only for success but simply to finish for what was described aptly as an eventful race. The Genesys team took this race by the reigns by contesting intermediate sprints throughout the entire race to push Pat Shaw's lead in the sprint category further. Later in the race it seemed as though the attrition in the race was going to give birth to the Tour's first break away victory. Nathan Haas was representing the team in this move, which meant that the team could relax and focus purely on good positioning for Steele's final sprint as the Fly V team wound the breaks lead back in the second last lap. Nicholas Sanderson and Pat Shaw rode an awesome last two lap's to challenge the tiring Fly V train in the second last corner to launch Steele to his 10th stage win for his National Series with Pat Shaw in second, arm's well above his head celebrating a seamless and selfless ride for his team. This stage witnessed the Yellow Jersey of Steele move onto the shoulders of a well deserved Shaw for his countless time bonus seconds won during the stage. This stage witnessed the Yellow Jersey of Steele move onto the shoulders of a well deserved Shaw for his countless time bonus seconds won during the stage. The fourth stage of the tour was always going to be a show down of power, with by far the most demanding time trial in the Tour's history. James E Stars once commented that Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling;somehow I doubt that he ever rode a time trial? Whilst the parcours of Gnarwarre to Cerres was a stunning example of Victoria's country side, many of the rider's failed to take this in as their eyes were focused on the white line, whilst their bodies were on the red line. The Genesys Team was riding the brand new Oppy TT, team edition that was turning heads at the event. I'm sure Oppy himself would have loved to ride this aerodynamic artwork in his time; nonetheless it was our time to shine in the Victorian sun. Second rider out of the gates was Genesys rider Kane Walker who swiftly rode himself into the hot seat over the 28km terrain. It wasn't until the 6th last rider, Edward Bissaker, from team AIS finished for Kanes time to be beaten and dislodged from his spot on top. Canberra rider Nathan Haas was the strongest of the Genesys boy's finishing second behind Bissaker, with Kane a close third. This stage earned Bissaker his first ever yellow jersey, taken from Shaw's shoulders who unfortunately mistimed his ride having reserved too much of his energy in the early stages of the race. This said his final few kilometers were very impressive but just not enough to hold yellow. Nathan Haas moved into second overall 9 seconds down of his AIS rival going into the Queen stage in Anakie. The fifth stage in the 2011 Tour of Geelong was always set to be the grand show down of the tour. Doting through148 km's of the area's hilliest and most technical roads to ride. Team Genesys had one job to do, that was to dislodge Edward Bissaker from yellow and ride Haas, Shaw or Giacoppo into yellow. The strength of the Genesys squad lies not in any one rider, but the teams uncanny ability to keep so many riders in contention for victory that means it is impossible for teams to defend against the Orange Army. From the gun, Haas was settling the score with Bissaker taking out every intermediate time bonus to have already surpassed Ed's lead by the half way point in the race. This meant that if the team failed to flick Bissaker, Haas was already in yellow. Notwithstanding, the eventual grind of the terrain, cold weather and distance ate into Ed's body, dropping from the lead group with 40km's to go. The team however, has nothing but respect for this rider who showed the heart of Pharlap and the determination of a true champion. The end of this stage was looking like Steele would take out his 11th win for the season having dragged himself over the climbs. Unfortunately, on the final decent Steele flatted which left Haas, Shaw and Giacoppo as the only options for the final push for the line. With tired legs from both Haas and Shaws contesting of all the days sprints and hill climbs victory was not meant to be for Team Genesys. Team Jayco 2XU's Ben Hill took line honors in front of Shaw and Haas. Whilst not having taken line honors, Haas had moved into Yellow over a minute clear of his closest competitor... what was incredible was that both second and third was Haas own team mates, Shaw and Giacoppo. This was in itself a feat that has never occurred in Australian racing. Malvern Star's track record of success has again proven that the Oppy C7 Team is an incredible weapon that lead the Genesys Team to take complete control in Anakie.... pardon the pun. The final Criterium in Geelong was purely a formality for those in the GC lead, as their lead was unassailable, assuming all riders finished safely. However, the final sprint jersey classification was still tight contest as Shaw trailed New Zealander's Alexander Rae by a mere five points. This created a great spectacle throughout the race as the two boys sprinted every second lap with Shaw edging closer to the lead. An amazing display of perseverance from Rae finally got the better of Shaw as his legs were showing fatigue from his week long effort to lead Steele as his always dependable lead out man. On the penultimate lap Haas took a daring opportunity to give flight to his yellow jersey with a solo move in the dying stages of the race. This attack put pressure onto the Fly V lead out which only caught Haas with 600 meters remaining. This kept the legs of Steele, Sanderson, Marwood and Shaw fresh for the final sprint. However, the left side of the road was swamped by some early sprint attempts blocking our team out of any true contention for the final dash to the line. Steele finishing in fourth, still with his famous smile in hand, having realized another team Victory with Haas ultimately winning the 2011 Tour of Geelong. Adding this victory to his arsenal of results, but more importantly having ridden the Genesys Wealth Team (on their Malvern Stars) into the National Road Series record books with their five consecutive tour victories! The team's success is a testament to their dedication, friendship and teamwork. Team manager, Andrew Christie-Johnson, stood yet again proud fo his Orange Army, which took out 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and the criterium jersey of Von Hoff. Another challenge over, anothervictory, and another challenge ahead, with their sixth tour victorylooming, with the start of the Tour of the Murray River thisweekend.I hope that you join the teams journey through their next adventure as they are yet again inspired by the challenges of success. I know the boys and bikes are up for it, so I wish them the best of luck in their next tour.

Leon Wins Challenge Cairns Half Ironman!
Leon Griffin shattered his opposition in the Challenge Cairns Half Ironman Triathlon, held in Cairns on Sunday 5th June. Returning from injury sustained a few months back Leon opted for the half instead of the full distance, and it definitely paid off taking a massive 13minute win over his closest competitor! The inaugural Cairns Half was held at the Cairns Airport, where the athletes completed in the scorching tropical north Queensland sun. The event saw the athletes complete a 1.9km swim in the warm waters of Yorkeys Knob, followed by a 90km cycle along the famous Captain Cook Highway and a 21.1km run taking in the panoramic sights along Cairns Esplanade. Leon came out of the water in third position but the extra bike training hes been doing recently, entering bike races helped him put in a solid bike leg. He closed caught the leader at the half way point. By the time he hit the run he had a 3 and a half minute lead, which he used to cruise home with an easy win. Congratulations to Leon on a fantastic win for his first race back from injury. We will keep our fingers crossed for you during your winter training and cant wait to see you hit it hard next summer! Thanks to firstoffthebike.com for capturing this interview with Leon after his win! For a full write up on the event click here

GENESYS WIN TOUR OF TOOWOOMBA
Genesys Wealth Advisers Pro Cycling Team rider Pat Shaw took out the 2011 Tour of Toowoomba over the weekend successfully defending his title from last year. The hard fought win was a true team effort underpinned by three stage wins, a King Of The Mountains jersey and the Teams Classification. Fridays first stage was a real dragem out knockem down affair with strong winds ripping the field apart on the narrow roads around Pittsworth. The boys were always at the head of affairs constantly taking the bonus seconds on offer for the numerous KOMs and Sprints along the route. Despite the wind a select group of around 20 riders still remained after the 110km loop with the bunch kick being taken out by Peter Thompson of Tinelli Racing. Pat Shaw managed 5th but due to KOM points on the road sat 2nd on general classification as well as leading the KOM competition while Nathan Haas did enough in the sprints to wear that jersey into day two. Saturdays stage two was an absolute doozy. After a reconnaissance on the Thursday a quick call was made and with some 28 tooth cassettes express posted to Toowoomba such was the gradient of the finishing climb. The climb would come after only 95km but the last 1.8 km would average 25%!!! The team did a great job keeping the race together in a bid to give Nathan and Pat the best chance possible to take the stage and keep alive the possibility of the overall win. In the finish Pat Shaw took the stage in a tight sprint over Rhys Gillett and Tassie young gun Alex Clements. In doing so Pat took over the race lead and is virtually unbeatable for the KOM . Nathan Haas finished 7th while Campbell Flakemore did a great climb to finish 10th after coming back from a rear wheel puncture only 2km from the finish. Sunday was a dual stage day with a road stage in the morning followed by a 50km criterium in the afternoon. With the team riding high after Saturdays success and buoyed by the benefit of a late night drive of the technical stage three finish a plan was hatched that we hoped would not only secure the overall but also net another stage win for the team. In what Genesys Team manager Andrew Christie-Johnston described as the perfect lead out the boys let Steele fly with 300m remaining. Steele didnt disappoint, easily taking the stage and in doing so showed himself as one of the quickest guys in the country. The afternoon criterium was just going to be a case of keeping things under control. First and foremostthey had to secure the win for Pat but the teamalso had the teams classification to think about as well as the possibility of another stage. The whole team did a great job marking the moves and keeping Pat out of trouble until Nathan snuck away in a small break towards the finish. The boys rode a false tempo to keep the break in check which served to protect Pats lead but also put Nathan in with the chance of the win and win he did easily taking the sprint and giving the team its third stage win. Another great team effort making it three tour wins out of three so far this year, a remarkable achievement. Keep your calendar clear for next Sunday as Cycling Central on SBS TV will be showing full highlights of the race.

Genesys Tame the Wild West
Stainless Steele Winner Day Two The Genesys Team has continued their winning form in what has been a spectacular start to the Australian racing season. Steele Von Hoff, Pat Shaw, Kane Walker, local boy Anthony Giacoppo and WA ex-pat Jason Rigg headed to Kalgoorlie over the first weekend in June to compete in Australias richest handicap race. Cycling has a long and proud history in the goldfields with The Menzies to Kalgoorlie first being raced in 1928. This years 83rd edition featured two individual races that were then combined to give the overall winner of the $40 000 Goldfields Cyclassic. Wet and wild in the west The first race the Kargoorlie to Menzies Chas Egan Memorial Race took riders on a long flat course of 132 km with the elite scratch bunch including the Genesys team heading off 23 minutes after the first riders started. The boys combined well in the wet blustery conditions to catch the front markers with 50km remaining. The kept the power down before launching Anthony into a break with just 12km remaining. Anthony then used his impressive sprint to take the win with an average speed of 50km/h and new race record beating the old mark by more than 8 minutes. The second race on the Sunday was from Menzies to Leonora a distance of 103km. The weather still left a bit to be desired with intermittent rain falling throughout the race. Once again the team combined well to reel in the front markers early then put it in the gutter to blow the field to pieces. This time it was Stainless Steele Von Hoff who benefited from a perfect lead out from Jason and Kane to power clear for the win with Anthony 3rd and Pat 4th. All in all a successful weekend for the boys at a well organised event that will continue to grow and one that the team will pencil in again for next year. Congrats to all the boys on an impressive effort!

Genesys success at Oceania Championships!
Oceania Championships were held in Shepparton from March 17th- 20th and the best cyclists from Australia the Oceania region came together to compete. The Genesys Wealth Advisors Cycling Team has already been pulling off some big results this year on their Malvern Star C7 Team bikes. Not only do they turn heads by their bright orange bikes and uniforms, but their riding performances scoring them podium positions. Oceania Championships saw Nathan Haas finish 5th in U23 Time Trial (13s off 3rd) and Campbell Flakemore come in 6th (18s off 3rd). The boys then backed up with a solid performance on the Sunday in the combined U23 Elite Mens Road Race. The challenging 164km course was designed to test competitors and although there were no major climbs the undulating courses difficulty was reflected in the fact that out of 120 starters only 27 riders finished. The final result was Nathan Haas 2nd U23 Oceania Road Race and Steele Von Hoff 3rd in the Elite Oceania Road Race.

Madeleine takes out GTS AGAIN!!!
For the second consecutive year Madeleine Oldfield has taken out the Gatorade Triathlon Series! On Sunday March 20th Mads competed in Race 6 of the GTS toeing the start line with the rest of an incredibly strong field including Olympian Erin Densham. Having won every Gatorade event she has entered this season (missing Race 5 in preparation for Husskison) she was a sure thing for the overall win, needing just to finish in a good position to take the win. Having beaten Erin in the same event last year- the competition between the two was set to be fierce. Madeline had one of her best swims to date and got out onto the bike course in 2nd position knowing that if I wanted to be in the mix I had to be out in that first pack on the bike. As Madeleine started the run leg she was in equal first, unfortunately the cracking pace set by Densham was too fast for Madeleine to hold on to. Crossing the line in 2nd place the result was enough to take the series win in the Elite Female category for the second year in a row- an amazing feat! She adds this to an extremely successful summer which includes four 1sts and one 2nd in the 2010/11 Gatorade Triathlon Series, 1st Pro Female at the 2011 Falls Creek Victorian Long Course Champs, 3rd Pro Female at the 2011 Australian Long Course Champs and 5th Pro Female at the 2010 Shepparton Half Ironman. Well done Mads we're proud of you!!

Maddy makes it 4 from 4!!
Madeline Oldfield, Malvern Star sponsored athlete is tearing apart the Victorian Triathlon scene this summer! After taking out last years Elite Female category in Gatorade Triathlon Series Madeline has won every race this season. She blitzed the field in the Victorian State Championships (Race 3) last month by over 3 minutes on her closest competitor and in Race 4 she overcame a wrong direction instruction from a marshal costing her 2 minutes to take the win! The only competition she faces now is from herself as she stands alone as the only undefeated elite left in the Gatorade series and it doesn't seem like she will be beaten anytime soon. To follow Madeline on her journey of being an elite triathlete check out her blog, or hear her interview on SEN 1116AM on Sunday 23rd January, 2011. Celebrating the 10th year of the ride all money raised goes to the Goulburn Valley Hospice Care who supplies free, compassionate care to the terminally ill and their families. The Rainbow Came To Our Doorstep!
The biggest cycling event to ever hit our shores and we were there! When you get the worlds best cyclists come to town it definitely turns into an action packed week, as the Official Bicycle Partner of the UCI 2010 Road World Championships Malvern Star was at the centre of the action for the week- and we loved it! There was a huge buzz on site at the Geelong waterfront with the Malvern Star tent trackside just before the final corner. The atmosphere was great with everyone making lots of noise with their Malvern Star clappers, the Malvern Star competition tent gave people the chance to take on the last 3km of the Port Macquarie Ironman on an Oppy C6 in a bid to be the fastest for the day, the full range of Oppys were on display in the Malvern Star Chill-Out tent, not to mention we had Phil Anderson, the Genesys crew and Richie Porte hanging out in the Malvern Star Chill-Out tent with us. The action started on the Wednesday with the U23 Mens and Elite Womens Time Trial. The U23 TT saw Luke Durbridge from Australia claim 2nd and set the tone for the rest of the week. Michael Matthews took gold in the U/23 Men's Road Race and the Mens Road Race lived up to its hype turning into a very exciting race ending in a thrilling sprint to the finish line with Norwegian Thor Hushovd taking the rainbow stripes and Australian Allan Davis taking 3rd. We hope you got a chance to check out the World Champs in Geelong, or watch it on TV, but if you didnt here are a couple of pictures to help you feel closer to the action!

Malvern Star Power into Sydney Victorious
It was a resurgent Ben Grenda that took out this years edition of the Goulburn To Citi Cycle Classic on Sunday upon his Oppy C7 Team. Ben was back to his best after being layed low by the dreaded and highly infectious man flu that has been doing the rounds causing him to miss Geelong and only line up for Murray River in a bid to find form before the Tour of Tassie later in the month. This years race was split into two stages, a prologue on the Saturday evening in Goulburn and then the traditional road stage on Sunday that climbs the infamous Razorback not once but twice before the survivors fly down to Camden for the finish. In the prologue Ben lead the assault, charging out of the start gate, flying around the 3.7km course to take a confidence inspiring second place and in doing so set himself up as a real chance to take out the overall classification. In the 170km road stage the team was at the head of affairs once again going on the offensive early being the only team to get two riders in the days main break. John Cornish and Nathan Haas rode a smart teams race running a decoy that had the other teams under pressure and allowed the rest of the Genesys team to take a back seat until they hit the Razor Back. On the climb the break shattered with three riders managing to crest the summit still clear of the rampaging peleton. Behind Nathan Earle put the team plan into action with an acceleration that split the race into three separate groups, distancing the other classification contenders, putting Ben in the box seat. With Ben Grieve, Nathan Earle, Nathan Haas and Benny Grenda all in the front group they powered towards Camden with the second group desperately trying to get back on terms which they eventually did with some 5km left to race. Importantly, prologue winner Jackson Law had found the going too tough on Razor Back meaning Grenda just had to finish in the front group to take the win. In the run to the finish Jonathon Cantwell prevailed over last years winner Richard Lang with Ben finishing on the podium in third and in doing so secured the overall win for this year. The Genesys team also took out the coveted Teams Competition for the race and has now extended their lead in the National Teams Competition with only three races to go.

Malvern Star Win Tour of Murray
Riding his Oppy C7 Team, Joel has gone one better, winning the eight-day Tour of the Murray River in Mildura yesterday. Pearson rode the final 66km Kermesse circuit to claim overall victory and the orange army (Genesys Wealth Cycling Team) handled it with precision. The twenty-seven year old Pearson fought an epic battle, winning by 11 seconds from Canberras Stuart Shaw, and securing his best result since winning the 262km Melbourne to Warrnambool Classic last October. Four months ago he underwent a major hip operation which threatened to derail his 2010 season, with a slow start to the current Scody Cup series in the Lakes Oil Tour of Gippsland early last month, Pearson gradually rode into peak form and was given marvelous backing by his Genesys teammates throughout the grueling 14 stage tour. Pearson, runner-up to Jonathan Cantwell in last years Murray tour said it was an unbelievable feeling to finally win a major Australian stage race. This is my biggest enjoyment because it was such a hard fought tough battle from start to finish. The likes of Stewie Shaw and Gordon McCauley threw everything at me over the last couple of days but I managed to hang on, mainly throughout the help of my Genesys team, Pearson said. With all of what Pearson has been through in his career, his confidence is going to be bolstered. Ive won so now I believe I can win these big races and Ill build on it and hopefully defend the Melbourne to Warrnambool later in the year. Im feeling pretty good right now and look forward to trying to pick up more victories, he added. Genesys did an exceptional job today of protecting Joels purple jersey. Despite plenty of attacks, the team performed brilliantly in what was a full team effort. Andrew Christie-Johnson was pleased with how the week went. Joel deserves this. Hes been through so much crap the last few years and to get the win today is going to bolster his confidence. Its been a great week for Genesys with three riders in the top ten. It should have been four but Tom Robinson had an untimely puncture in the closing stages yesterday. Steele Von Hoff improved out of sight and John Cornish showed why we recruited him. Jason Rigg, Tim Walker, Ben Grenda, Kyle Marwood all contributed, particularly on the last stage and can be proud of their efforts, Christie-Johnson said. Genesys Wealth Advisers finished second in the team classification and now have a strong lead in the Cycling Australia National Road Team Series. With the team heading into form at the right time, the next races for Genesys (Goulburn to Citi followed by the home tour, Tour of Tasmania) are sure to be just as epic.

Person Takes Tour of Geelong Stage 6
Joel Killer Pearson put the finishing touches on a fine team performance in The Tour of Geelongs final stage taking an awesome victory in the high speed bunch sprint on Geelongs waterfront. The final stage doubled as the Victorian Criterium Championship with non-tour riders also allowed to compete making the field considerably larger. Riding his Malvern Star Oppy C7 Team Tim Walker broke away early with John Cornish and tried to spice things up with strong attacks off the front before Dylan Newell went on the offensive pulling away a group of four riders. The speed was incredibly high making breaks very difficult, but the plan was to make the racing as aggressive as possible in an attempt to weaken the other sprinters teams and give Joel a chance at the finish. The boys kept attacking with Dylan particularly aggressive constantly driving off the front lap after lap, eventually earning the award for most aggressive on the stage. In the finish the team moved Joel to the front on mass putting him in the perfect position. Joel was full of praise for his team after he crossed the line. That has to be one of the fastest sprints I have ever been in he said. The boys were awesome, they moved me up at the right time and just nailed it! With Pearson still recovering from surgery to replace a kinked artery the win is all the more impressive and was a great finish to a very tough tour. Tom Robinson capped off a great tour finishing 8th overall whilst Nathan Haas won the King of The Mountains competition. Next up is the Complete Wealth Charity Ride in Albury on the 28th of August before the team take on the Tour of Murray River starting on the 29th of August in Echuca.

Genesys Take 2nd at Tour of Canberra
In perfect weather conditions, 40km South East of Canberra, Genesys Wealth Cycling Team took their Oppy C7s to the Tour of Canberra over the weekend. Once again producing excellent results, Will Clarke took another podium finish winning stage 3 and placing 2nd overall. As soon as the flag was dropped, attacks started left, right and centre. Drama interrupted the race in stage 1, when the race was stopped 6km from the start due to the peloton not obeying the road rules. Genesys controlled the peloton, with 8km to go the 7 Genesys riders moved the peloton to catch the break. Will Clarke came through in 2nd position in stage 1 with 2 more stages to go. Stage 2 was held in Stromlo Forrest, 20km South of Canberra. Another day of beautiful sunny conditions greeted the cyclists as they set out on a 109km circuit. From the very beginning, there were plenty of attacks and a solid group of approximately 12 riders broke free, including 3 Genesys riders. Not long after the initial break, the race was back together and another attack was launched by Nathan Earle. Once again some cyclists broke the road rules and the race was stopped for the second time during the Tour. With 25km to go, the break had nearly been drawn back in so Clarke launched an attack. In the final 10km, the race was in chaos, attacks were taking place all over the road. Clarke only just missed a podium finish by a mere 5 seconds placing 4th for the 2nd stage. Stage 3 was another chaotic race with many frequent attacks. On the climb up Corin Dam, the peloton shattered due to Team Genesys setting a relentless tempo. On the next climb, Mt McDonald, Ben Grieve-Johnson attacked and not long after a crash within the peloton cost one rider his top five position. The final climb, at Uriarra, saw Will Clarke over the mountain first to draw away and pick up some much needed bonus seconds to stay on the podium. Meanwhile, Nathan Earle scored second place sealing him the king of the mountains jersey. Clarke showed his sprinting prowess overpowering the other riders to come 1st in stage 3. Clarke and Grieve-Johnson are now taking their Oppy C7s to Belgium for 6 weeks to test themselves and the bikes in some of the most competitive racing districts in the world. Clarke is quietly confident in his form in the lead up to some of the most testing rides he is yet to face, My form is reasonably good. I'm climbing well and I'm feeling good. I should be right and hopefully things go well, he added.

Will Clarke Controls All Stages at Coleraine!
Will Clarke (Gensys Cycling Team) dominated the Tour of Coleraine over the weekend claiming all three stages and the overall title as Genesys team mate Ben Grenda finished runner up on their Malvern Star Oppy C7s. Team Genesys promised attacks and from the outset lived up to their word with Dylan Newell attacking as soon as the race started in stage one. The next break was the winning move of the day with Will Clarke and Ben Grenda attacking the peleton. 20km to go, Clarke attacked the group and went on a solo ride to victory winning by just over two minutes ahead of Grenda. Stage two, a 45km Criterium in Coleraine was again another eventful stage. There were plenty of attacks and Genesys worked together to control the race. There were four intermediate sprints and with them came time bonuses with Grenda winning three. With 3km to go, the peleton weren't organised and the break was looking strong with a ten second advantage. In the final kilometre, Clarke made a break and claimed his second consecutive victory. With a comfortable lead heading into stage three, Clarke and his team only needed to survive the stage with the main group. However, it wasn't that easy. A quarter of the way into the race, Clarke had to stop for two bike changes and the peleton attacked, leaving him stranded. In a show of great team work, every Genesys rider dropped back to help Clarke get back into the main field. After 20km of chasing, they rejoined the race. Showing tremendous strength and perseverance, Clarke attacked the peleton and broke away with approximately 25km to go and was never caught cruising to another solo victory by over a minute. In some ways I surprised myself. I felt strong and I was climbing very well. Even though the hills weren't that big, the legs were strong and I managed to take victory, Clarke said. Not only did Clarke win the overall title, he claimed the king of the mountains jersey and team Genesys Wealth Advisers took the teams classification by over twenty minutes. Stage 1 Results 1. Will Clarke (Genesys Wealth Advisers Cycling Team) 2. Ben Grenda (Genesys Wealth Advisers Cycling Team) 3. Pat Shaw (Virgin Blue RBS-Morgans) 4. Shaun McCarthy (Great Doherty Team) 5. GENESYS DOMINATES AUSTRALIAS TOUGHEST CLIMB
Genesys rider Nathan Earle claimed a sensational victory in terrible weather conditions at Mt Baw Baw over the weekend. Riding his Oppy C7, the 21 year old defended his title in attacking in the final 5km. Earl said his Oppy C7 felt awesome on the steep slopes of Mt Baw Baw. Strong cross winds, heavy rain, hail, hard climbing and difficult descents were the major obstacles before the tough climb up Mt Baw Baw. The 80km climb has an average gradient of 11% with a maximum of 23.5%, and is the hardest ascent in Australia and arguably ranked one of the top five difficult climbs in the world. At the summit, the temperature was zero degrees as he crossed the line. The snow then fell as the other riders slowly worked their way to the finish two and a half minutes in front of the closely contested 2nd and 3rd. For Earle, this was a solid victory I was pretty keen to do well. With my upset stomach, I wasn't sure how I would go. All went well and the legs felt good. There was extra motivation today as the defending champion, Earle said. He was quick to acknowledge his team-mates who worked hard all day. There was good help from my team-mates. They rode well. Ben Grieve-Johnson and Dylan Newell were 6th and 9th respectively.

120 ride with Phil Anderson
Last weekend Phil Anderson joined 120 enthusiastic riders on a shop ride to help celebrate Graceville Bike Hubs 1st Birthday. To accompany them were a large selection of Malvern Star Oppy C7 test fleet bikes. The riders headed off early on a solid 40km ride, taking in the opportunity to meet and ride with Phil. Graceville Bike Hub gave away a gift voucher to their store to one lucky rider and other spot prizes were given away throughout the day. The day before Phil Anderson joined both Boggo Road Bike Hub and Hyperdome Bike Hub on shop rides, giving more riders the opportunity to try out the Oppy C7 test fleet. Many riders were trying the Oppy C7 for the first time, and they were very impressed with the bike. Feedback from one of the riders said the Oppy C7 was very responsive; handling great, road vibration through the bars is negligible. 3rd at the UCI Tour of Taiwan!
The Genesys Cycling Team has done it again, with Will Clarke achieving an excellent 3rd overall at the UCI 2.2 Tour of Taiwan! The seven stage tour covered 900km across the Taiwan countryside and hosted some of the worlds best in cycling, so this place is no small feat for Clarke and his team. They fought off the tough conditions Taiwan threw at them including heat and humidity and dodged some big challenges on the road including a collision with another rider that sent Clarke flying over his handlebars. Nevertheless the team stuck to their plan, rode smart, and achieved tremendous results at every stage. This is just further testament to the Malvern Star Oppy C7 that the Genesys team are boasting a podium finish including their excellent results throughout the Tour. Keep up the good work you legends!

Oldfield Wins the 2010 Gatorade Triathlon!
Yesterday Madeleine Oldfield completed the final round of the 2009/2010 Gatorade Triathlon series on top of the leader board boasting 1st Elite Female for the series. Throughout the series Oldfield achieved 5 out of 6 podium finishes, including two 1st places. Yesterdays race in St Kilda, Melbourne, looked to be a tough round with a strong field including Olympian Erin Densham. Oldfield had a solid swim and exited the water in fourth place, Oldfield said I knew that if I were to be amongst it at the end I had to be with the lead girls on the bike. Oldfield managed to reel in one girl in the first 2km of the ride however the two lead girls worked hard to hold their position. Coming into T2 Oldfield was about 2 minutes off the pace, Oldfield said (I) knew I had to have a solid run if I were to make up any ground on the lead two and to secure a podium finish. Oldfield managed to get within 15 seconds of 2nd place but had to settle for 3rd for Race 6, 12 seconds off Denshams split time. Oldfield has one more domestic race of the season with the Mooloolaba Triathlon next weekend she then takes her Malvern Star Oppy C7 over to Singapore to race in the OSIM Singapore Premium Asian Cup on April 10th.

MALVERN STAR SPONSORSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
Malvern Star are proud to announce a sponsorship agreement with Genesys Wealth Advisers Cycling Team (Formerly Praties Cycling). The Australian based road cycling team formed in 2000 and boast a successful past with 15 national wins including the Tour of Tasmania, the Pengana Goulburn to Citi and winners of the National Team Series! Now riding the Malvern Star Oppy C7, the Team have already notched up a couple of wins with Will Clarke winning the Launceston International Criterium and Burnie Criterium against a field of international riders. Team Manager Steve Price said its a great start for the team, great for our new sponsors too!! Two big wins from two starts After covering some serious kilometres in training the team are happy with their new rides commenting on the overall ride qualities of the bike's front end stiffness for high speed cornering, while the rigid drive-train provided more power to the wheels, which has been crucial during these criterium races. The Team is currently racing the Jayco Bay Series Criteriums and will finish off a hectic couple of weeks with the Australian Open Road Cycling Championships coming up in Ballarat. We look forward to working with the riders on continued product development across our road and time trial bicycle ranges. Good luck you Legends.

Drew Ginn Takes his Oppy C7 into the wind tunnel
It wasnt long ago Drew Ginn, 3 times Olympic Gold Medallist, was facing an early retirement with a back injury. Today after surgery, he has set his sights on the 2012 Olympics in London and has been training hard on his Malvern Star Oppy C7. Drew Ginn OAM is an Australian triple Olympic Gold Medallist. Ginn won the Mens Coxless Fours at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics as part of Australia's Oarsome Foursome. In 2004 Ginn joined fellow rower James Tomkins in winning Gold in the 2004 Athens Olympics and again in 2006 he won the mens pairs at the rowing World Championships with fellow rower Duncan Free. When in Beijing for the 2008 Olympics Ginn was in agony from his inflamed back following the cramped bus rides in China. Despite the pain, together with Duncan Free, Ginn managed to win gold in the Mens Pairs rowing. After their win in Beijing, Ginn could hardly walk and was told to rest for 6 weeks. In September last year, facing retirement from elite sport, Ginn had surgery to repair a ruptured disc in the L4/L5 region of his lower back. Following his surgery Ginn used cycling to keep up his general fitness. Now with the support of Malvern Star he has began training for the 2012 Olympics in London. Recently, Ginn took his Malvern Star Oppy C7 to the Monash University wind tunnel to find his most aerodynamic position. Malvern Star are proud to support Drew Ginn, keep up the good work you legend.

Malvern Star classic toys stamp!
Malvern Star are proud to be selected as one of the five enduring classic toys featured on the Australia Post set of stamps. Like a child excitedly ripping a new toy out of its packaging for the first time, Australia Post and Malvern Star are thrilled to announce the Dragstar Classic Toy that will feature in a set of stamps released on 25 September, 2009. From Baby Boomers through to Gen Y, both boys and girls, kids and kids at heart should all share fond memories of at least one of the five Classic Toys featured on these stamps. Generation X children will remember with fondness the Malvern Dragstar bicycle which is a true product of the 1970s. This low rider bicycle was a revolution with its lower than average wheels, very tall upward-swept handlebars called apehangers and long, curved banana seat with a sissy bar. The other Classic Toys are Barbie(tm) in her 50th anniversary year, 1980s toy sensation Cabbage Patch Kids(r), the 1950s era Cyclops pedal car and iconic cricket board game Test Match. It has been so much fun for all involved in this stamp issue to test drive these toys and try and come up with the most iconic toys from our own childhoods and from our own kids childhoods said Group Manager Philatelic, Australia Post, Mr Noel Leahy. The same toys kept coming up again and again, and hopefully the stamps will bring a smile to faces all over Australia. Classic Toys stamps and associated products are on sale from participating Australia Post outlets, via mail order on 1800 331 794 or online at auspost.com.au/stamps from Friday 25 September 2009 while stocks last.

The Legend is launched!
We are proud to announce the launch of the 2010 range of the Malvern Star Legend! After more than two years of work between Phil Anderson, Raoul Luescher and our Malvern Star product development team we can reveal the all new, exclusively Australian designed, carbon fibre frame. Using tube to tube technology, the frame has been designed from the bottom up and been through rigorous testing to ensure the highest standards. Lead technical consultant Raoul Luescher has experience on composite materials at Boeing and has worked on bike design with the AIS and the Australian Olympic team. The legendary Phil Anderson brings a riders perspective, and has been an intrinsic part of the frame development throughout the design process, as well as road testing the bike in rigorous conditions. After Phil put the bike through its paces we decided to further test the frame through an independent testing lab in Germany. The entire Oppy range comes standard with high quality componentry including complete Shimano groupsets, Mavic and Zipp wheelsets, Hutchinson tyres, Fizik saddles and FSA/Ritchey handlebars, stems and seatposts. The new Malvern star legend range is a complete package; it transcends the status of legend with a design that showcases a harmonious and balanced offering that can only be described by the word masterpiece. That is why we proudly say to create this work of art, we started with the frame.
